Established in 1941 by local golfing enthusiasts, the Marrickville Golf Club still maintains a proud local golfing lineage, along with excellent terms with local residents and Marrickville Council. The Course is adjacent to the Cooks River, only 6 kilometres away from the commercial heartland of Sydney, and 4 kilometres from the airport. The par 60 course is somewhat on the shorter side (under 4000 metres), but makes up for it with some challenging on-course conditions and tricky holes that demand golfing precision. The course is ideal for novices, as well as intermediate and seasoned golfers working on their short swings, and golfers of all ages are welcome to savour the challenges of the course. One of the best Grade 3 courses around, social players are welcome throughout the week, and the club also offers adequate parking space and an extremely relaxed, calming ambience which is ideal for social and corporate events (golfing or non-golfing). The clubhouse restaurant also offers a wide assortment of food and beverages options, at extremely competitive rates. The course is also ideal for groups whose games would span over nine holes, and weekly corporate sessions attract discounted rates. Local Schools also could use the golfing facilities at the course (9 or 18 holes) at a discounted rate, as the club is extremely committed towards fostering and honing golfing talents from the grassroots levels. These encouraging club facilities have, over the years, produced many promising golfing stars who have become prominent golfers.
