A follower of the true Scottish lineage of Golfing, the Bondi Diggers club presents a rough, untamed yet beautiful course that exudes vintage appeal. This nine hole course is based on a rough terrain, eschewing the meadow format, and gives golfers of all abilities a rather challenging workout with their swings. Meant to refine the short swings, the course consists of a par 4 and 8 par threes. The course’s best is a 4 under par, a record that eludes even most of the professionals who come here for game practice before Sydney PGA meets. The staff of dedicated grounds-men and maintenance experts keep the greens fresh, lush and conducive to good golfing. The course itself is fashioned after the Scottish golfing legacies, and presents a beautiful Whale-watcher’s spot, and Aboriginal stone carvings on the 5th hole. Depicting motifs of extinct mammals and exotic animals, these carvings are national treasures and enhance the overall golfing environment. The climate is exceptionally comfortable, owing largely to the surrounding cliffs and the sea-breeze, although it could get windy at times. In fact, the total ambience faithfully reflects Scottish golfing conditions.
