The club owes its origins to Allenvale, on which it was formed in 1954. Mr. Abe Allen, then owner, constructed this club to facilitate golfing for exclusive members. In 1964, the Club arranged for a lease of 110 acres of Crown land, which forms the present premise of the Club, to expand and construct its exclusive course. The present 9-hole layout of the course was conceptualized and prepared from 1966, being designed by Jock Whillens. Much of the groundwork, infrastructure and maintenance work have been volunteered by the members of the club. |
