The Burnely Golf club is a new entrant in the Australian Golfing Scenario, having been established as late as in 2007, by a group of social golfing enthusiasts who wanted to combine the comforts and relaxed nature of social golf, with the competitive nature and the thrill of tournament golfing. The club itself is modeled on the Burnley Public Golf Course that is a short distance from Melbourne CBD and is run by the City council of Yarra. The club organizes competitions on every Saturday, and winners and the ‘nearest pin’ clinchers are awarded prizes. The clubhouse also has extensive lunch and refreshments facilities for those who would want to lounge about, or socialize with other golfers in a relaxed environment. |
